TN Outage (part of the NammaMap civic technology ecosystem) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy documents how we collect, secure, and process your data when you visit and subscribe to notification feeds on our website.

1. Data Minimization & Collection

We believe in strict data minimization. We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver our power shutdown alert service:

• Mobile Numbers (WhatsApp Alerts): If you explicitly choose to subscribe to WhatsApp notifications, we collect your phone number. This number is used strictly to programmatically deliver the alert messages.
• Notification Preferences: We store your preferred TNEB administrative nodes (Circles, Divisions, or Sections) so we only send alerts relevant to your locality.
• GPS Coordinates: When you use the "Locate Me" electrical mapping utility, coordinate geofencing is processed entirely inside your local browser sandbox. Your exact coordinates are never transmitted or stored on our servers.

2. Payment & Billing Details Security

All subscription payments (₹29/month) are handled securely through **Razorpay Software Private Limited**.

• No Financial Cache: NammaMap never reads, stores, or processes your credit card numbers, CVVs, net banking details, or UPI credentials.
• Secure Processing: Your financial data is securely transmitted directly to Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant servers over cryptographically secured links.

3. Data Sharing Policies

We hold a zero-tolerance policy against marketing exploitation:

• We do not sell, rent, trade, or distribute your phone number or data to any third-party advertisers.
• Your phone number is shared with Twilio (our cloud delivery gateway) solely for programmatically transmitting scheduled WhatsApp notifications.

4. Your Rights & Retention

You remain in full control of your communication feeds. You may unsubscribe or request full data deletion at any time:

• Opt-Out: Click the "Unsubscribe" button in the client portal, or simply reply "STOP" directly to any WhatsApp alert to immediately delete your number from our active delivery pools.
• Retention: Subscription and alert history are automatically purged from our servers once the active subscriptions expire.
